Cane accent chairs that are trending now

Cane has been trending for awhile now specifically in interior furniture. There’s something about this natural material that makes an item have that vintage look but still find its way to look contemporary. This interesting mix of concepts and styles add a unique look to a piece of furniture. Nowadays you can find cane used in different applications like cabinet doors, desks drawers and even shoes! But today I’ll be sharing interesting cane accent chairs that are trending now.

What is cane?

Let’s start with the basics. Cane is a natural fiber that comes from the rattan palm found in some tropical countries. It’s intricate man-made patterns are made with beautiful weaving technique.s The size of the webbing pattern is the measurement from the center of one hole to the center of the next hole. Because it is a highly pliable material, it is ideal for the production of chair seats, headboards, and many other furniture pieces.

This noble material has been around for some centuries now. Some have mentioned it’s used in furniture since the late 1600’s in countries like France, England and even Holland. No wonder why cane has that timeless feeling everytime we see it used in a space.

Ideal for different spaces

We find many of these cane accent chairs in areas such as living and family rooms. But this material is ideal for dining rooms and spaces where a little organic material is needed. In this virtual design I was able to incorporate these type of chairs with a painted black structure to add drama to the space. The cane seat and backrest created a direct connection with the surrounding outdoor space.
