What does a barbershop, bar and podcast room have in common? A style! When I was presented with this project the idea of creating a harmonious yet hip space where all its zones could coexist, was a true challenge. But I accepted it with excitement! The “pièce de ré·sis·tance” was an amazing barber chair which was the muse for this room. Infused with a vintage barbershop elegance, these three zones were designed to flow and interact with each other.

Please find below the overview of this project. I have divided the space into zones and each one will have its own personality while keeping some similar traits.

Podcast Area: This area was created for podcast recording but when it’s not in use, it can work as a sitting area and to entertain. The wall behind this spot will be highlighted with Matte Black Zinc inspired tiles to bring that old school vibe.

Barbershop: With its industrial vibe, each barber will have its own stations that will be divided by a gridwall. This divider will also serve as a place to hang all the barber tools if needed.

Bar: The bar will have an additional serving counter on the back. A full wall mirror will bring that sense of being in a real bar and will also create an illusion of amplitude in the room. This area will have two pipe shelves on each side to display bottles and glasses.

The entryway of First Round Management office was in need of some simple updates that would provide the clients with an introduction of the brand once they got inside the space. For this we are adding a frosted glass panel where the stair railings are with the FRM logo for a big first impact. We are replacing the sitting area with two chairs and a small drink table to elevate the look of the reception and waiting area. We proposing a black paint color option for the ceiling, back wall in the hallway  and the front doors (color options: Sherwin William: “Iron Ore” SW7069 or Benjamin Moore “Black Panther” 2125-10).

We are also proposing a wood slat wall treatment that will run from the back of the tv on the reception through the ceiling (see rendering below) and from where a set of single sconces (and some recessed lighting) will hang. This wood slats can be stained in a similar color as this one. The same material can be used in the hallway as backdrops for athletes photos. We can always replace these photos with screens that will interchange the photo of the athletes depending on trends or the sport season.

Another option for the wall behind the tv in the reception can be metal tiles (see second rendering option below).

In the main hallway we are proposing new lighting with modern LED squares to replace the existing track lights.

The floor carpet is to be replaced by the vinyl wood style tiles used in the barbershop.

Final coordination and payment of services for wallpaper installation, wall treatment installation and window treatments will be responsibility of the client.
